The verse lyrics deal with institutional indoctrination and gaslighting over years and generations. I wanted it this section dark and ominous, with the ghostly voice in the background and threatening vocals that are kinda rap and kinda not, strongly channeling Sean Lowry.
The chorus is an obvious shift from dark to light with the person at the end of their life and wondering if everything they were promised is going to come true. The ghostly background voice turns angelic and the mutlitracked lead vocal is all major key notes.

The solo section is one i wrote back in the 90s and was the shining light in an otherwise basic song I wrote using 8 bit tracking software with ghastly samples. I had been wanting to find it its true home for many years and I discovered it fit this song perfectly.

I do hope you enjoy the track as much as i did making it
